Author's Festival

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Each year, Kettering PTA is proud to introduce our students to a published author or illustrator of children's books.  The students attend a small assembly where the Author shares their real life experience in writing, publishing and illustrating books.  The children interact with the author and get inspired to write great stories as well as learn about a career that they may enjoy in their future.  They have the opportunity to get their copy of the author's book signed that day.  It is an educational and fun event that the staff and students look forward to.

Our 2011 Featured Author is Caroline Arnold

Caroline Arnold has been writing for children since 1980 and is the award winning author of more than 140 books! She also illustrates many of her books. She began writing books when her children were small and finds inspiration in her travels and love of the natural world. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and a small menagerie of critters! She also teaches part-time in the Writer's Program at UCLA Extension.
