ABOUT THE WATCH D.O.G.S.

Watch D.O.G.S.

WATCH DOGS® (Dads Of Great Students) is the safe school initiative of the National Center for Fathering that involves fathers and father figures to help create a more safe and secure learning environment in our nation's schools.  Watch DOGS are fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day each year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administrator.  Visit Fathers.com for additional information.

The Watch DOGS at Kettering Elementary:
  • Organize a "School Beautification Day" - typically a cleanup, project, or planting day that happens in the fall or spring
  • Participate in Career Day, Read Across America, Kettering's Library Nights and other committee sponsored events
  • Assist the PTA's fund raising activities by providing volunteer support and donations for the Jog-a-Thon, Carnival and Trunk-2-Trunk.
We typically meet twice a year off campus to discuss our participation and organization during the school year.

Miguel Marin is the TOP DOG.  He holds the leash of the Watch DOGS for the 2015-2016 school year.

Volunteers are needed for Trunk-to-Trunk, the first DOG supported event.  If you'd like to participate and keep up-to-date on meeting schedules and happenings, simply contact the Top DOG at watchdogs@ketteringpta.org.
