Volunteers are Needed

Our PTA is powered by amazing volunteers like you!
Without your help, we can’t make our events happen. The best part? Although not all events require VIPS Status to volunteer, we recommend becoming a VIP, because being a VIP will offer the widest range of volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer needs are diverse; there are various volunteer opportunities year round. These are typically posted on the Band app. Please check our stay connected page to find your class Band. Additionally, PTA members are automatically added to the PTA band, where information for schoolwide events is posted.

PTA Board positions, program chairs and room parents, are typically selected as follows. If you are interested in participating in any of these roles, please keep the following timelines in mind:
Room parents - Room parents work with the teacher to organize additional help for their classroom needs and be the liaison between the PTA Board and your classroom families. Room parents are voted on by the PTA Board and Teacher to ensure the correct fit. Interest forms are available at the beginning of each school year, with applications due within the first few weeks of school. Additionally, room parents must be cleared as VIPS by October.

Program chairs/committee members - program chairs and program committee members are typically selected at the end of the school year, for the following year. If you are a new parent, interested in participating, please inquire with the PTA board at the beginning of the school year.

PTA board - board positions require nomination; we typically nominate for the following school year. Additionally, room parents are selected at the beginning of the school year each year. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the PTA band, or email volunteer@ketteringpta.org

Become a VIPS
​
All adults volunteering on campus during school hours and chaperoning on field trips must complete the application. VIPS certification is done by LBUSD; while the process is simple, please keep in mind it may take several weeks for applications to be processed.
